Jefferson Park and Playground, Central Northside: 605 Redknap Street
From where I stand, the northside rowhouses and downtown skyscrapers spread out before me; the various shapes and angles, materials and methods, colors, and textures are a sight to behold. It’s a grey day, and the world around me is changing, both subtly and with great force. But the view and everything Jefferson Park offers the neighborhood make me smile. As I meander through the terraced basketball courts and playground and carefully navigate the steep Belgian block street to the community center, I’m reminded that nature and nurture are not separate; they are in a relationship, and when balanced, joy is spread throughout everyone and everything you do.
