It’s been a flurry of activity since City Steps of Pittsburgh: A History & Guide was released in mid-July! We’re pleased to report that every local bookstore we’ve visited (indie and chain) had copies in stock or available for order. We’ve also received word that retail stores, museum gift shops, and local cafes (shout out to Garden Cafe in Spring Garden!) are also displaying the book. Thank you!
If you haven’t purchased a copy yet, there are a few upcoming events where you can purchase signed copies directly from us.
Saturday, September 7: Stop by Legion Park in Brighton Heights (on Brighton Road) between 11 am and 4 pm to pick up a copy of the new City Steps book and enjoy the Home & Garden Tour! It’s just a short walk from the lovely Wapello Street stairs. There will be lots of vendors and food trucks!
Sunday, September 8, at 10 am: Join Venture Outdoors for a fun city-steps walk around Troy Hill, Spring Garden, and Spring Hill.
Saturday, September 14 at 9:30 am: A free city steps walking tour of the South Side Slopes Church Route. This event is part of the Tour de Peace celebration for the Mary, Queen of Peace Parish. This tour is open to all who are interested!
Wednesday, September 11 at 7 pm: Mt. Lebanon Public Library. This is a free, hour-long presentation about the history of the city steps. The library has copies of the book for members to check out, and we will also have books for sale if you’d like a copy to own.
Saturday, September 28 at 10 am: 3 Rivers Outdoors is sponsoring a guided walk around the city steps of Hazelwood. The meeting location is New France Brewing/Abstract Realm Brewing at 5009 Lytle Street in Hazelwood.

Coming Up in October….

As always, thanks for your interest and support for Pittsburgh’s city steps. Hope to see you soon!
