Spring Hill Playground, Spring Hill-City View: S Side Avenue & Romanhoff Street
The park is empty except for a girl and a small dog playing near the swing set. Their giggles, chatter, and yips of enthusiasm carry through the air as I slowly walk past them toward the baseball field. They are so enamored with one another that neither shows any interest in my movements; I’m rendered invisible. Their focus on each other is captivating, and I wonder what thoughts, feelings, sensations, and impressions are being communicated and shared. It’s kid energy, little dog energy, laughing for no reason other than fun energy. Their joyful distraction soars like a tree, joyfully hugging me with arms as wide as the sky.
