Ives Way to Itin Street Spring Hill City View North Trip 343

September 27, 2019Laura ZurowskiFiled Under: Spring Hill-City View

Trip #343 Ives Way to Itin Street, Spring Hill-City View, took place on September 8, 2019, and was published on September 27, 2019.

With a lot of determination, a dose of wisdom, with a dash of charm, you can tackle almost any personal task, professional opportunity, or community challenge. But be forewarned: You’re going to have to be the one who gets the ball rolling. If the work at hand holds meaning for you, you can’t sit back and wait for someone else to step forward. That’s a sure-fire recipe for NOT making progress! Instead, set your sights on what you want to accomplish, come up with a plan, put on that smile, and get started. You’re going to be amazed by what you can do!

Field Notes: This short flight is on the section of Diana Street that connects Ives and Itin Streets. Diana has been closed to vehicles due to the landslides from two years ago. On the visit today, the repair work is nearly done and it appears the street will be re-opened to cars soon!

Want to visit these stairs? You can locate them on the Pittsburgh City Steps Plan website!

See the Risograph print of this photo and story in the Mis.Steps Shop.

Be a good neighbor! Have you visited these stairs and found them in poor condition or that illegal dumping (large items like tires, old furniture, and construction debris) and trash were abundant in the area? There are two things you can do to take action and make our city steps cleaner and safer for everyone! First, grab a photo if you can, and submit a report to Pittsburgh 311. All problems, both broken stairs, and railings, as well as trash and dumping, should be reported to the city. You can easily do this online or by calling. If the location has an abundance of illegal dumping and trash, also contact Allegheny Cleanways, letting them know the location and the nature of the garbage. Thank you!!
