Trip #355 Magee Street to Seitz Street, Soho, Pittsburgh took place on September 28, 2019, and was published on October 21, 2019.
We live in a world where there is so much want, and so much to want, that the value placed on what we value isn’t always high. Whether you lean toward the spiritual plane or embrace the material world, consider the values you identify with and then take stock of your real and perceived wants and needs. This isn’t about uncovering right or wrong answers; it’s simply an opportunity to reflect upon what is important to you, and if your beliefs and values are working in harmony or in opposition to them.
Field Notes: Maybe these were city steps back when Bob Regan was first investigating and mapping but these days the area appears to be solidly in the property of Duquesne University – and with lots of recent construction and road repair. It is a nice area though and well maintained.
Want to visit these stairs? You can locate them on the Pittsburgh City Steps Plan website!
See the Risograph print of this photo and story in the Mis.Steps Shop.
Be a good neighbor! Have you visited these stairs and found them in poor condition or that illegal dumping (large items like tires, old furniture, and construction debris) and trash were abundant in the area? There are two things you can do to take action and make our city steps cleaner and safer for everyone! First, grab a photo if you can, and submit a report to Pittsburgh 311. All problems, both broken stairs, and railings, as well as trash and dumping, should be reported to the city. You can easily do this online or by calling. If the location has an abundance of illegal dumping and trash, also contact Allegheny Cleanways, letting them know the location and the nature of the garbage. Thank you!!
