Gass Avenue to Leonora Street Brighton Heights Trip 380

December 27, 2019Laura ZurowskiFiled Under: Brighton Heights

Trip #380 Gass Avenue to Leonora Street, Brighton Heights, Pittsburgh took place on November 28, 2019, and was published on December 27, 2019.

There’s no one “right way” to make a change. Changes can be dramatic and sudden, gradual and subtle, or any combination of characteristics. Sometimes, enlisting the help of others when you’re trying to make a change is helpful. Accountability partners and a supportive network can be valuable allies. But other times, creating a private shift can result in incredibly powerful realizations – almost like discovering a hidden treasure that is meant for you alone. Public or private, big or small, every change puts you on a new path, seeing new sights, making discoveries. Embrace them all for the gifts they bring.

Field Notes: This is literally perpendicular to Trip #368. It’s a short little flight at the corner of Gass and Leonora and it’s somewhat covered due to recent repaving of the street.

Want to visit these stairs? You can locate them on the Pittsburgh City Steps Plan website!

See the Risograph print of this photo and story in the Mis.Steps Shop.

Be a good neighbor! Have you visited these stairs and found them in poor condition or that illegal dumping (large items like tires, old furniture, and construction debris) and trash were abundant in the area? There are two things you can do to take action and make our city steps cleaner and safer for everyone! First, grab a photo if you can, and submit a report to Pittsburgh 311. All problems, both broken stairs, and railings, as well as trash and dumping, should be reported to the city. You can easily do this online or by calling. If the location has an abundance of illegal dumping and trash, also contact Allegheny Cleanways, letting them know the location and the nature of the garbage. Thank you!!
