Trip #419 Isabella Street, Chartiers City, Pittsburgh took place on March 15, 2020, and was published on March 27, 2020.
Even with our social distancing practices, every day, we travel to various locations – whether that’s walking the dog, hunting for toilet paper, or pacing through rooms in our home. While our physical wanderings often take top billing, it’s important to remember that our minds are also in motion. And those mental voyages either help or hinder us. Is your head in a place that’s affirming to yourself and others, or are you mired down in a toxic wasteland? Perhaps you’re in a place where there are some limitations, but they’re manageable with a little creative problem-solving. Right now, our mental and emotional journey is in the spotlight, so choose your destinations wisely. Get your head into a good space and then let the body follow. #PMA
Field Notes: This flight is essentially closed. The opening off of Chartiers is open but there is a bunch of tree limbs piled at the bottom. The second leg of the flight that goes up to Isabella is totally destroyed and not passable at all.
Want to visit these stairs? You can locate them on the Pittsburgh City Steps Plan website!

Be a good neighbor! Have you visited these stairs and found them in poor condition or that illegal dumping (large items like tires, old furniture, and construction debris) and trash were abundant in the area? There are two things you can do to take action and make our city steps cleaner and safer for everyone! First, grab a photo if you can, and submit a report to Pittsburgh 311. All problems, both broken stairs, and railings, as well as trash and dumping, should be reported to the city. You can easily do this online or by calling.
