Trip #460 South Main Street to Walbridge Street, Elliott, Pittsburgh took place on June 28, 2020, and was published on July 8, 2020.
The billboard looks me straight in the eye, “WHY SETTLE FOR LESS?” and I think, yes, we often settle for less than what we are worth, less than what we deserve. We are also notorious for lowering our expectations for ourselves. Chances are, we all have at least one thing we’re seriously slacking on, something we don’t find interesting, enjoyable, or rewarding, so we settle for an underwhelming performance. It’s so much easier to have high expectations for others – our friends, family, lovers, elected officials, but this isn’t about them, this is about each one of us. Don’t settle for less. We need to live life to the best of our abilities.
Field Notes: A little corner flight off of Walbridge also features a small community flower garden. The legal billboard in the background features prominently in the landscape!

Want to visit these stairs? You can locate them on the Pittsburgh City Steps Plan website!
Be a good neighbor! Have you visited these stairs and found them in poor condition or that illegal dumping (large items like tires, old furniture, and construction debris) and trash were abundant in the area? There are two things you can do to take action and make our city steps cleaner and safer for everyone! First, grab a photo if you can, and submit a report to Pittsburgh 311. All problems, both broken stairs, and railings, as well as trash and dumping, should be reported to the city. You can easily do this online or by calling.
