Trip #472 Lorentz Avenue to Navajo Way, Elliott, Pittsburgh took place on July 24, 2020, and was published on August 5, 2020.
Looking into the past can provide us with a narrative of bygone days, but it’s impossible to go back and re-live the story. Looking ahead to the future can provide us with a myriad of probable scenarios, but it’s impossible to foretell which will become a reality. If the past is our shadow, then the future is the sun, a giant orb of energy that fuels our hypothesizing and speculation. But despite being surrounded by a sea of memories and dreams, we have been given a present. Where we stand at this very moment is solid and known: The Island of Right Now.
Field Notes: All that remains of this sidewalk flight is one little step in a now grassy side-yard that runs along the street.

Want to visit these stairs? You can locate them on the Pittsburgh City Steps Plan website!
Be a good neighbor! Have you visited these stairs and found them in poor condition or that illegal dumping (large items like tires, old furniture, and construction debris) and trash were abundant in the area? There are two things you can do to take action and make our city steps cleaner and safer for everyone! First, grab a photo if you can, and submit a report to Pittsburgh 311. All problems, both broken stairs, and railings, as well as trash and dumping, should be reported to the city. You can easily do this online or by calling.
