Trip #486 Louisiana Avenue, Beechview, Pittsburgh took place on August 16, 2020, and was published on September 9, 2020.
When we develop the ability to offer unconditional love, our lives transform in meaningful and profound ways. Having the emotional capacity to undertake such a journey is no small thing, and the world around us is filled with those who are not yet ready to hold the joys and sorrows, excitements and fears, of those they may profess to love. These are very real, very human weaknesses that all of us experience. Chances are, there’s someone or something you’d willingly “go to the moon and back” for, while with others, the moon is exactly where you’d prefer to re-locate them! But imagine if you were able to take your deepest, most sincere love and extend it all of those around you. How compassionate and understanding we’d all be if we could love one another so completely.
Field Notes: Louisiana Avenue has a beautiful long flight with a fully functioning, beautifully kept orphan house! That said, the house is approached by a long raised walkway – and while there are some stairs you could access the house and property without having to go up them. A beautiful spot – kind of like living in the middle of a nature preserve!

Want to visit these stairs? You can locate them on the Pittsburgh City Steps Plan website!
Be a good neighbor! Have you visited these stairs and found them in poor condition or that illegal dumping (large items like tires, old furniture, and construction debris) and trash were abundant in the area? There are two things you can do to take action and make our city steps cleaner and safer for everyone! First, grab a photo if you can, and submit a report to Pittsburgh 311. All problems, both broken stairs, and railings, as well as trash and dumping, should be reported to the city. You can easily do this online or by calling.
