Trip #608 Antenor Way, Overbrook, Pittsburgh took place on June 26, 2021, and was published on July 12, 2021.
No one can predict, with complete certainty, what’s in store for us as we travel the road of life. Even if the path at our feet appears clear and straight, there will always be facets we cannot perceive or interpret. As a result, our lives will always have uncertainty. Because of this, the very act of navigating our days involves a high degree of trust. We have to trust our decisions even when we don’t know what lies ahead, can’t see beyond our feet, and have worries about roadblocks, detours, or washouts. While it’s true that our journey becomes richer when we surround ourselves with those we consider trustworthy, ultimately, we have to trust in ourselves – wherever our life is taking us around the globe or down the street.
Field Notes: The bottom of this flight lets out on a narrow sidewalk of a road that has clearly been widened over time. I like the look of these long flights that pivot and turn near the end. While in overall decent shape, there have been a few repairs over time – including this wooden patch job. Not sure if that’s an official DPW fix or someone who lives nearby and uses them.

Be a good neighbor! Have you visited these stairs and found them in poor condition or that illegal dumping (large items like tires, old furniture, and construction debris) and trash were abundant in the area? There are two things you can do to take action and make our city steps cleaner and safer for everyone! First, grab a photo if you can, and submit a report to Pittsburgh 311. All problems, both broken stairs, and railings, as well as trash and dumping, should be reported to the city. You can easily do this online or by calling.
