Trip #721 Winhurst Street, Brighton Heights, Pittsburgh took place on April 10, 2022, and was published on April 27, 2022.
When we’re children, we’re often asked what we’d like to be when we “grow up,” and throughout our lives, the answers we give may change. For some, the path from childhood dreams to adult realization is clear and defined, while for others, it meanders and circles, branching out into various directions. As we move through the years, we gradually realize that the nature of work can take endless forms. A job or profession may be our life’s work, or it may be a means to achieve it. Either can be a viable and worthy choice, and there is always the option for change, regardless of age or circumstances.
Field Notes: This is a long paved path that has a few steps incorporated into its design. The flight starts in the residential section of Winhurst Street and ends on Brighton Avenue which has some houses but is a much busier road. This was another spot for a Marys of Pittsburgh sighting!

Be a good neighbor! Have you visited these stairs and found them in poor condition or that illegal dumping (large items like tires, old furniture, and construction debris) and trash were abundant in the area? There are two things you can do to take action and make our city steps cleaner and safer for everyone! First, grab a photo if you can, and submit a report to Pittsburgh 311. All problems, both broken stairs, and railings, as well as trash and dumping, should be reported to the city. You can easily do this online or by calling.
